Many people are interested in the Tintab public seating shelter on the edge of Brigg town centre - judging from the page views generated by past posts about it on our blog.
Brigg Town Council recently started refurbishment of the four-sided structure on East Park by assigning its handyman service to undertake a tidy up and remove greenery growing in the gutters and on the roof.
The second phase, yet to start, will involve repainting the wooden structure near the Monument war memorial roundabout. This will protect the wood beneath for a number of years.
Inside the Tintab are several inscribed plaques put up decades ago but later painted over. They may explain the choice of the word 'tabernacle' and perhaps say something about the generous benefactor who donated this structure.
Brigg Town Council is now looking to restore the writing that's been hidden for so long.
