ON THE RIGHT ROAD IN BRIGG

North Lincolnshire Council was on the right road in Brigg yesterday (Thursday, January 7).
Gritting of some estate roads was carried out during the morning in addition to the mandatory overnight 'salting' of the A18 (a main route).
Subsidised by the local authority, the bus service which tours Brigg housing estates was also operating as normal - taking shoppers to and from the town centre. This is particularly useful to senior citizens and those with mobility issues.
A periodic council review of this long-established subsidised service (operated by Hornsbys) is due to be undertaken early in 2021 (February has been mentioned).
It is of particular value to people during bad weather, but many Brigg folk will have seen this bus pass by with few passengers aboard at various times of the year in fine and foul weather.
Brigg Blog will endeavour to keep track of the forthcoming review.
We noted a Lincolnshire-based CallConnect bus coming into town on the A1084 yesterday, while North Lincolnshire's own JustGo (a recent addition) also offers the opportunity to dial a ride. Click here for details.
