BRIGG FARMERS' MARKET WILL GO AHEAD, COUNCIL CONFIRMS

North Lincolnshire Council has now confirmed that this month's Brigg Farmers' Market WILL go ahead.
"We plan to hold the farmers' market for essential shopping," a spokesman told Brigg Blog.
Confirmation was sought because of the arrival of Lockdown 3 and the fact that the farmers' events were put on hold for a time last year during Lockdown 1.
The next farmers' event will be held in the Market Place on Saturday, January 23.
The first Brigg general market to be held during Lockdown 3 was visited by shoppers yesterday (Thursday, January 7).
Fruit & veg, pies and pastries and cheese were on offer, but one stall (near the Woolpack and the Wool Shop) remained unattended after being erected.
What are classed as essential items can be sold during the current lockdown, and Brigg's next general market will be held this Saturday.
Following a sharp overnight frost, there were a few slippery areas in the town centre yesterday morning which the sun had failed to melt. However, the York stone paving which runs down the middle of Wrawby Street was ice free.
