OLD BUILDINGS NEAR BRIGG CAN BE CONVERTED INTO DWELLINGS

A scheme to create two dwellings for residential use near Brigg - close to a listed building - has been approved on land adjacent to Kettleby House, on Kettleby Lane, Kettleby.
West Lindsey District Council has granted planning permission and given listed building consent for the conversion of old crew yard buildings to form two dwellings, including access and landscaping works, as well as the removal of an agricultural shed and the creation of a walled garden and footbridge.
A West Lindsey officer's report about this proposal said: "The application site is located within the open countryside and is accessed off a track leading from Kettleby Lane. It hosts a range of 19C (century) detached barn buildings and a large detached agricultural shed which are listed by virtue of their association with Kettleby House, a grade II listed building with associated moat."
Heritage statements submitted to the council in support of the application said "Conversion secures the future of this heritage asset in a commercially viable yet sensitive way" AND "The buildings, although in a state of disrepair, are suitable for conversion without substantial rebuilding."
Kettleby House dates back to 1796 and has been grade two listed since 1951. The crew yard "is listed by virtue of curtilage."
