Brigg Town Football Club is reminding/informing fans that today's scheduled home game against Bottesford Town - listed on the pre-season fixture list posters - is "unfortunately now off."
This afternoon's game at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns) was to have been the annual Brigg v Bottesford match in memory of popular former coach Ian 'Chalkie' Whyte, with the teams playing for a Memorial Trophy named after him.
Brigg Blog updated yesterday's weekend sporting preview after being informed of the Bottesford game's cancellation. But some of our followers may have missed the amendment.
Sport-loving spectators have an alternative this afternoon, with Brigg Town Cricket Club hosting Outcasts 2nds at the Recreation Ground, starting at 1.30pm, in Lincolnshire League Division Three. This game is scheduled for 45 overs per innings.
It's going to be a hot one for both teams, with the temperature perhaps topping 80F!
