FORMER GREGGS SHOP IN BRIGG TO SEE NEW FOOD USE

The former Greggs shop in Brigg town centre is to get a new food-related use.
This national retailer served its last takeaway sandwich from the Wrawby Street outlet on Saturday, November 25, 2017 before pulling out of the town. Since then the ground floor unit has been standing empty.
However, Brigg Food Bank has now revealed it's moving in.
Details have yet to be confirmed but we assume volunteers may be using the premises to sort items for distribution to needy people and also to accept donations.
Some months ago the charitable Food Bank received planning permission for a storage facility on the business park near Atherton Way.
On the day Greggs closed in Brigg we were among the final customers, buying a tasty ham and salad takeaway sandwich and a chocolate slice. It also sold savoury pasties, sausage rolls, cakes, drinks and snacks.
