BRIGG BLOG'S WEEKEND LOCAL FOOTBALL & CRICKET PREVIEW FOR JULY 3 AND 4

There's a busy weekend ahead for Brigg and district sports teams and their supporters on Saturday & Sunday (July 3 and 4).
Brigg Town Football Club continues the build-up to the 2021/22 league season with another first team pre-season friendly which will see Maltby Main visiting the EC Surfacing Stadium on Saturday for a 1pm kick-off.
The Hawthorns bar, clubhouse and beer garden will be open, together with Pips Kitchen offering meals and snacks, and the children's play area.
Admission to the Zebras' pre-season games costs £5 (adults), £3 (concessions) with under-16s admitted free if accompanied by an adult.
Having devoted last weekend to the Gary Smith Testimonial match which raised nearly £700 for the Stroke Association charity, Brigg Town Cricket Club returns to Lincolnshire County League action on Saturday when they visit Lindum 3rds for a Division Three fixture at a famous and historic ground in Lincoln.
Brigg have won one of their three Div 3 games so far but collected a decent haul of batting bonus points from the high-scoring fixtures they lost.
Hibaldstow, who are at the foot of the Div One table, host Messingham - the side immediately above them in the standings.
Broughton 2nds, who visit Cleethorpes 3rds, will be looking to pick up sufficient points to climb out of the relegation zone in Division Two.
In the Mick Walker North Lindsey League on Sunday afternoon (July 4) Broughton will visit Alkborough for a Division Two encounter.
