BRIGG SHOP DEMOLITION UNDER WAY AHEAD OF NEW TOWN HOUSES & RETAIL UNIT BEING BUILT

Demolition work is under way at a well-known former cycle shop in Brigg to make way for new town houses and a ground floor retail unit.
Adjoining buildings - Nos 11 & 12 Bridge Street - are coming down several months after planning permission was granted for their removal and the erection of three new dwellings, a retail unit and garages for parking.
Formerly home to the Sherwood cycle shop (established in the 1960s) the buildings now being taken down changed ownership many months ago.
Proposals to demolish Nos 11 & 12 and redevelop the site were submitted in June 2020 by local man Phil Drury through an agent.
Approval was granted in February this year. A condition attached to the planning permission specifies the trading hours of the new retail unit: Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5.30pm; Sundays and bank holidays, 10am to 4pm.
Our pictures above show the early stages of demolition which involves local firm CLS. This site has been fenced off for some time. Below are artist's impressions indicating how the new development will look once it has been completed.
