Efforts are being made to create a new community cinema in Brigg with people now being asked to support a bid for funding by voting for it online - the closing date being July 11.
The intended location of the cinema is the refurbished drama hall at Sir John Nelthorpe School, off Grammar School Road, which will be part of the Brigg Arts and Culture Centre.
Local people are being asked to support a funding bid for £1,000 now this project has made the shortlist to receive a KCOM Community Grant.
This Hull-based communications company is busy installing underground cables on various streets in and near Brigg and offering locals the chance to sign up for ultra-fast broadband.
Several months ago when KCOM representations made a presentation to Brigg Town Council it was explained that community bids would be welcome from local groups and organisations.

KCOM explains that its community grants scheme "gives funding to charities, community groups and schools that are working to make a positive difference to life in our region."
The Brigg Arts and Culture Centre (BACC) is joined on the latest shortlist for support by eight other projects - some from the North Bank of the Humber and others from the South Bank.
Explaining how the grant will be used if its bid is successful, BACC says: "We would like to start a community cinema for the residents of Brigg and surrounding villages, becoming the social heart of the community and providing connections and social opportunities for those who might otherwise be isolated. We hope a local cinema will provide a warm and friendly atmosphere for local residents to come together without the need to travel out of town. This grant will help purchase a projector screen to run a community cinema for the residents of Brigg and surrounding villages."
