BROUGHTON SHOP TO BE CONVERTED FOR RESIDENTIAL USE
A motorcycle shop can be converted into family accommodation, North Lincolnshire Council has decided.
It has granted planning permission for the 'derelict' shop premises at Westleigh, 6 High Street, Broughton.
Approval has been given to convert the existing building into a dwelling, including extensions, alterations, demolition of an existing warehouse and associated works.
No objections from members of the public were received about this application.
A council assessment report said: "The principle of using the shop and associated ground floor rooms as residential accommodation is acceptable, as the site is set within Broughton and Appleby which is predominantly residential.
"The loss of the motorcycle shop is not considered to be harmful to the character of the area and {it} is also noted that the shop is currently vacant.
