BRIGG WILL BE BUSY AS MAJOR ROWING RACE COMES TO TOWN

Part of Brigg town centre will be unusually busy on Sunday (October 13).
This is because major rowing races will be taking place on the River Ancholme.
The annual Ancholme Head event is, as ever, being organised by Ancholme Rowing Club, which has its boathouse off Manley Gardens.
Competitors will be coming to Brigg from all over Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the East Midlands.
Bridge Street - leading to Manley Gardens - will be particularly busy.
The races will start at 11am and 2.30pm, entries having closed on October 6.
Many spectators will be gathering on the County Bridge to watch the competitors setting off towards Broughton for the races and then returning later to the boathouse.
With many people coming to town on Sunday, there's a golden opportunity for local businesses to enjoy a boost in trade, particularly those offering food and drink.
Most visiting competitors and spectators arrive early in the morning and stay until late afternoon.
