WHITE HORSE FOOTBALL REUNION COMING UP IN BRIGG

A football reunion is to be held for former players of one of the most successful local teams in Brigg.
Founded in the late 1970s, Saturday team White Horse FC - based at the Wrawby Street pub - graduated from the Scunthorpe and District League to the Lincolnshire competition.
Originally due to take place on October 4, this reunion has been re-scheduled to Friday, November 29, from 7pm, at the White Horse - now owned and operated by Wetherspoon's. All ex-players are welcome.
That's the night of Brigg's Christmas lights switch-on, festive fair and late night shopping.
So White Horse 'old boys' can admire the illuminations and drop in at the reunion later on.
A number of Brigg Town cricketers were among the initial White Horse squad.
The pub was then run by Tom and Kath Merriman who were to enjoy a lengthy association with the hostelry.

Elsewhere on the pub front, the Black Bull - also on Wrawby Street - has now introduced free pool, Mondays to Thursdays, between opening time in the morning and 3pm.
