AROUND THE BRIGG & DISTRICT BARS

Brigg Town Football Club will be hosting a children's Christmas party in its licensed Hawthorns clubhouse on Sunday, December 15, from 4pm.
Tickets cost £2 with no admission charge for accompanying adults. There's a 60-person limit for this event so don't hang about in buying tickets from the venue near Hawthorn Avenue (vehicular access off Wrawby Road).
Santa will be meeting and greeting kids in his grotto, with presents on offer. There will also be a buffet and a disco.
Brigg Blog recently dropped in at Barnetby's Whistle & Flute pub for a pint and met up again with landlady Julie Frankish, who was a member of the bar staff at the Black Bull in Brigg for many years.
Talking of the Black Bull, we are always pleasantly surprised to see how many young adults use its games room - housed in what was once the restaurant area. Pool is clearly a thriving pastime - even late on Saturday evenings!
The Britannia Inn, on Wrawby Street, was very quick off the mark in getting its Christmas tree up and decorated in the bar this year, and it's looking good...with a month to go until the big day.
