BACKING FOR NEW BRIGG CAFE, CHILDREN'S CENTRE & OFFICES
Plans to create a sizeable new building containing a cafe, children's centre and offices have found favour with Brigg Town Council.
The authority's Planning & Environment Committee - meeting in the Angel Suite Lounge - raised no objections to a planning application for this two-storey development with associated car parking and landscaping on land to the north of Atherton Way near the M180.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Town Mayor Coun Brian Parker pointed out: "It's open land at the moment. It has its own car parking and is another business bringing more people to work in Brigg."
Coun Ann Eardley was concerned about increased traffic using Atherton Way near the primary school.
But Coun Jane Gibbons pointed out that the new development might operate from 7am to 6pm which would not clash with school arrival and leaving times.
North Lincolnshire Council planners will now make a final decision on the application from CLS civil Engineering Ltd.
