FOOTBALL MATCHES GO AHEAD IN BRIGG DESPITE RECENT HEAVY RAIN
Both football matches in Brigg went ahead yesterday (Saturday, November 9) despite the recent very heavy rain.
Brigg Town lost 4-1 when hosting Glasshoughton Welfare at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns).
The visitors were 3-0 up at the interval in this Toolstation Northern Counties East First Division game.
Reece Moody reduced the arrears early in the second half to give the Zebras some hope, but Glasshoughton added a fourth.
There was another good home attendance for Town - 145.
Briggensians managed to get a game in at Brigg Recreation Ground and moved into the top half of the table with the point gained from a 2-2 draw against Scotter United Reserves.
Both home goals came from Matthew Eagles in this EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District League Division Two encounter.
The matches involving Barnetby United and their Reserves were postponed because of wet conditions following the recent heavy rain.
Brigg Town Reserves won 3-2 away to Horncastle Reserves in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier.
