BRIGG GRANT WILL HELP FUND COMMUNAL CHRISTMAS MEAL 2019

Brigg Town Council has now presented a £342 grant to help meet the cost of staging a communal Christmas meal in the Angel Suite for about 90 people who might otherwise be on their own during the 2019 festive season.
This public-spirited event will take place on Saturday, December 28.
Brigg Angels Women's Institute is working alongside other community groups so these local people can enjoy a Christmas celebration, including a hot meal, entertainment and a gift.
The event is aimed at Brigg residents who do not have the opportunity to spend Christmas with family and friends.
The cheque was received on behalf of the organisers during the Town Council meeting held on Monday night (November 25) in the Angel Suite Lounge. Town Mayor Coun Sharon Riggall made the presentation.
In a welcome and recently introduced move, the Town Council is now seeking to present grants in person, rather than posting cheques to groups that have made successful applications for financial assistance.
The council sets aside funds in its annual budget for local grants. Applications can be made at any time, stating how much is being requested and why the money is needed. All applications must be accompanied by a current statement of accounts/balance sheet.
