Brigg Blog's site statistics show there is considerable interest in two proposed housing developments just a few yards apart on Bridge Street.
From the busy A18 - in a car or on foot - it's easy to see the frontages of both sites, but today we thought we'd share rear views of these sites, taken from Forrester Street and Engine Street.
The picture at the top shows the rear of Dean Wray's Carpets & Vinyls. Permission is being sought for the erection of 2 dwellings, 2 two-storey apartments with new undercroft access, landscape parking, a single-storey extension to the retail shop with store, amended loading bay and demolition of a redundant and abandoned yard building.
North Lincolnshire Council has yet to make a ruling on this application, but the Town Council voiced no objections after being consulted as part of the planning process.
Permission was recently granted to demolish existing buildings, 11-12 Bridge Street, and to erect 3 dwellings, a retail unit and associated parking garages. This involves a former cycle shop and the building next door adjoining Forrester Street. Their frontages were recently fenced off pending the project getting under way.
Still awaiting a decision from district planners is another scheme for housing in this part of the town. An outline application for residential development has been submitted for the Car Sales and Storage Area off Engine Street (pictured below).
