DETAILS OF 'VIRTUAL DINNER' & BRIGG SCHOOL REUNION ANNOUNCED

Former Brigg pupils across the world will be able to enjoy an event next week which replaces their annual reunion by using the latest technology.
The Briggensians' Virtual Dinner 2021, with guest speakers, will be held online, in virtual format. The traditional sit-down meal and get-together due to take place this month in Elsham Golf Club's restaurant had been cancelled because of the lockdown of licensed premises and restrictions on large gatherings.
The Briggensians' Association - representing former pupils and staff of Sir John Nelthorpe School, Brigg Grammar and Brigg Girls' High - will be hosting the online event on Tuesday, March 23, from 6pm (UK time) using the Zoom platform.
Speakers will be association chairman Clive Thompson, SJN Headteacher Rob Biglands and Holly Mumby-Croft, the MP for Scunthorpe and a past pupil of Sir John Nelthorpe School.
Retired Headteacher David Brittain, on behalf of the association, tells ex-pupils: "If you are a Briggensian and on the email circulation list then you will receive your invitation, with detailed instructions on how to join the meeting, over the next few days."
If you are a Briggensian but not on the regular list, you can register with Dave Brittain dave.brittain@talktalk.net or Helen Cresswell hcresswell@westrum.co.uk directly or via the Briggensians website. You should give your name, as on the school register, plus entry date, as confirmation.
Those unable to log in live next Tuesday, perhaps due to being in a different time-zone, should note that the organisers "will provide alternative access for seven days following the Zoom meeting."
David Brittain adds: "We are hoping this will create a sense of occasion and we will leave the meeting open following the speeches for 20 minutes to allow for conversation between members. 

Brigg Blog expects this global link-up to prove popular as it is the first ever held, on this scale, for Briggensians.
