HOW CCTV MIGHT ASSIST WITH RECYCLING IN BRIGG

Hundreds of Brigg households support recycling and put out their used cans, glass bottles & jars and newspapers/magazines ahead of North Lincolnshire Council's fortnightly 'full' collections which also involve the general waste wheelie bins.
Some of the householders who have filled the small boxes provided before collection day take the trouble to visit local recycling centres to make bulk deposits.
Judging by the picture (above) taken on Sunday (February 28) on the edge of the Old Courts Road car park, plenty of Brigg folk recently answered the council's call to recycle as much as possible.
Two large bins are provided here - one of which (very helpfully) has the lid left unlocked most of the time so would-be recyclers with full bags of cans do not have to spend an age feeding them two at a time through the circular slots.
On Sunday, though, this unlocked bin was not only full, it was overflowing!
Is there any chance that spot-checks could be made so, if the bin fills up, earlier emptying can be arranged?
This need not involve staff being sent to the site; these bins are under the watchful eye of CCTV located on the edge of the car park and monitored from a central control point.  A quick internal email or call, as car park footage is reviewed, could sort this issue.

Last Sunday's situation, we can confirm, was not a one-off.
