BRIGG WELCOMING BACK FOOTBALL, CRICKET & TENNIS

Football, tennis and cricket are on course to return to Brigg Recreation Ground as the Government gradually lifts restrictions imposed due to the Coronavirus emergency.
A few football matches may take place from mid-April at the tail-end of the 2020/21 season, and some pre-season Spring maintenance has recently carried out on the cricket square - our Brigg Town club being on course for home games from early May through to late August (full confirmed fixtures to follow on Brigg Blog).
Tennis is also returning to the Rec in the near future. We gave brief details in an earlier post, but since then further information has been supplied to Brigg Blog, together with some pictures taken pre-lockdown.

Brigg Blog is awaiting a reply from the Hockey Club about the possibility of end-of-season games resuming in April at the Rec Ground. We'll keep you posted!

FROM ALI SHARP, BRIGG TENNIS CLUB

This friendly club, located at the Recreation Ground in Brigg, offers tennis for all – competitive and social play whatever your standard. If you are itching to get onto the tennis courts, dust off your rackets and come and play!
Following a fairly quiet year due to lockdown, we anticipate restarting our tennis activities from April.
The club has 4 full-sized adult courts and 2 enclosed mini courts and runs a full programme for juniors (5 years to 16) and adults, including coaching (run by Club Coach Adam) and fixtures as well as social tennis.  The club enters 3 teams in the Gainsborough doubles league and offers friendly fixtures against other clubs as well as competitions within the club itself.
Memberships are available - adults, juniors and family and are very competitively priced.
Coaching sessions are led by LTA Level 3 coach, Adam Wrightham.  Junior coaching sessions are available on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings and are open to children aged 5 and upwards of any ability. Equipment can be provided. If you are returning to tennis, a beginner, or wish to advance your play Adam is also available for 1 to 1 coaching.
Adult group coaching is on Monday evenings.
