STUDENT WHO DESIGNED BRIGG HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL ATTENDS CEREMONY

Among people of all ages attending the solemn Holocaust Memorial Ceremony held in Brigg on Sunday (January 26) was Izzie Roberts, who designed the new memorial statue when she was a 14-year-old student at the town's Sir John Nelthorpe School.
Izzie, now 15  and pictured above, was among those who laid stones at the steel memorial which is sited on the Millennium Green, Elwes Street.
Each stone symbolically represents one million people who perished in the concentration/extermination camps.
Brigg Town Council organised Sunday's ceremony. Those attending included Town Mayor Coun Sharon Riggall, Deputy Town Mayor Coun Brian Parker, Brigg & Goole MP Andrew Percy, and students from Sir John Nelthorpe School and the Vale Academy.
