BRIGG TOWN FOOTBALLERS IN DERBY ACTION WHILE BRIGGENSIANS ENJOY AWAY WIN
Brigg Town Football Club lost 2-1 at Winterton Rangers in a North Lincolnshire derby yesterday (Saturday, January 11).
These are the only local sides playing in ToolStation Northern Counties East Division One this season.
Two goals from Jaime Ture gave Rangers the edge, with Cameron Hill scoring very late on for the visiting Zebras.
The attendance at West Street was 251 - third highest of the day in this division.
Winterton are second in the table, with Brigg ranked 15th of 20 teams.
Brigg Town Reserves lost 3-1 to Lincoln Moorlands Railway yesterday at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns). The Reserves are ninth of 13 teams in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier.
Mid-table Briggensians enjoyed a 1-0 win on their visit to Epworth Town Colts Development in EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District League Division Two. Justin Walker scored the all-important goal to secure three points for the Brigg-based side.
Barnetby United Reserves lead Division Two following a 3-1 victory at Scotter United Reserves - secured with goals from Martin Lestak, Ryan Frankish and Daniel Newell.
However, the Barnetby United first teamers lost their 100 per cent record in Division One. The league leaders went down 2-1 at home to Epworth Town Colts Blues - Brendan O’Callaghan netting Barnetby's goal.
