CHELSEA FOOTBALL FANS EXPECTED TO STOP OFF IN BRIGG

Brigg Blog is forecasting that many football fans from London will be stopping off in town on Saturday, January 25.
They will be on their way over the Humber Bridge to watch Chelsea play Hull City at the KCOM Stadium in the FA Cup fourth round.
This tie kicks off at 5.30pm, rather than the usual 3pm, so a lunch-time refreshment stop in Brigg is expected by some of the supporters' coaches while Blues' fans sink a pint or two and seek a bite to eat.
Managed by Frank Lampard, Chelsea are a long-established side in the top flight (Premiership).
Chelsea were given an FA Cup shock at their Stamford Bridge ground in January 2005 when striker Paul Hayes opened the scoring for Scunthorpe United, although the London side recovered to win 3-1.

Paul briefly lived in Brigg during his early days with the Iron. Some other Scunthorpe players also resided locally at that time and occasionally took part in evening quizzes at the White Horse pub - long before JD Wetherspoon took over and transformed the premises.
