23 PICTURES FROM THE CHRISTMAS COMMUNITY MEAL IN BRIGG
Christmas spirit was evident in Brigg when a team of volunteers gave up their time to host the town's annual Christmas Community Meal last Saturday afternoon (December 28).
It was organised by the Brigg Angels Women's Institute for 90 people who might otherwise have been spending some of the festive period on their own.
The venue was the town centre's Angel Suite community venue, and the three-hour event included a two-course meal, drinks, entertainment from Summer Woosey and Pheobe Hunt of the Musilova Theatre School, music from Ben Thomas, free-to-play bingo and a raffle with lots of fine prizes.
The WI's guests enjoyed the get-together - and they all took home a Christmas gift.
Brigg Town Council gave a £342 grant to help with the cost of staging the community meal.
The main course was chicken and fresh vegetables, with vegetarian alternatives provided.
Some of the guests later took to social media to thank the WI - Thelma Glentworth saying it was a lovely afternoon.
Donna Dobbs, of the Angels, thanked fellow members for doing an amazing job to ensure their guests had a wonderful time.
