CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME IN BRIGG

Once the Lindsey Lodge Hospice opens its new premises at 64 Wrawby Street, Brigg will have eight charity shops.
The others are all located within the town centre on Wrawby Street and on/near Springs Parade.
Along Wrawby Street are Oxfam, the Oxfam Book Shop, Red Cross and Age UK Lindsey.
Springs Parade has Jerry Green's and Sue Ryder, with an RSPCA shop located nearby and facing the same car park - handy for people making bulky contributions.
All charity shops welcome donations of unwanted or surplus goods from people living in Brigg and the surrounding area, and also have their doors open to shoppers whose purchases help to fund these worthy charities.
They make more money (25 per cent) if local folk register with them for Gift Aid. Ask the staff for details.

Oxfam recently contacted us by email to say: "Nigel, did Santa slip up? Receive a book you’ve already read? A top that’s not your colour? Or perhaps your friends know you so well you received the same gift twice? Whatever the mishap, donating those presents to your local Oxfam shop can help change lives.
"We’d particularly love to receive clothing, home-wares and books. The better the quality, the more you’ll raise to fund life-changing projects for people living in poverty."
In this case, Oxfam is out of luck when it comes to book donations from us after Christmas.
However, like other Brigg residents, we have given many books in the past to its dedicated shop and made numerous donations to other charity outlets in the town.
If you have any unwanted items, rather than throwing them away select your shop(s) and make a New Year's resolution to drop them off in the near future.
