AMENDED PASSENGER TRAIN SERVICES INTRODUCED FOR BRIGG AND BARNETBY BY TWO COMPANIES

There will be no passenger trains calling at Brigg railway station today (Saturday, January 8) due to the service being suspended by operator Northern until mid-February. And Transpennine Express will be operating fewer trains via Barnetby from next week.
Transpennine explains: "Due to a shortage of available train crew as a result of rising sickness levels, predominately driven by the Omicron variant of Covid-19, along with industrial relations issues and the Government’s advice to work from home where possible, we will be introducing an amended timetable from Monday 10th January 2022. This amended timetable will provide a stable and reliable service for those customers who are travelling with TransPennine Express."
The company's Cleethorpes-Sheffield-Manchester Piccadilly/Airport service "will operate hourly in the AM and PM peaks and every two hours in the off-peak period. To enable rolling stock maintenance and stabling, the last service of the day between Sheffield-Cleethorpes will operate as a rail replacement bus service."
The amended timetable will be in place from January 10 "until further notice."
Transpennine trains will depart from Barnetby towards Cleethorpes at: 8.17am, 9.19am, 10.20am, 12.18pm, 2.18pm, 4.18pm, 6.18pm, 7.18pm, 8.18pm and 10.29pm. The 00.31am train will be replaced by a bus.
Transpennine trains will depart from Barnetby towards Scunthorpe, Doncaster, Sheffield and Manchester at: 5.32am, 6.53am, 8.53am, 10.53am, 12.53pm, 2.53pm, 3.53pm, 4.53pm, 6.53pm, 8.53pm and 9.53pm.

Potential passengers should note that Northern will NOT be operating a replacement bus service calling at Brigg, Kirton Lindsey and Barnetby stations between now and mid-February to replace the six Saturdays-only trains between Sheffield and Cleethorpes which have been cancelled.
