BRIGG AREA FOOTBALL DERBY CREATES LOCAL INTEREST


The Black Bull football team from Brigg drew 1-1 at Hibaldstow in a local derby in Paul Fox Scunthorpe League Division Three yesterday (Sunday, January 9).
The villagers took the lead, with Black Bull levelling during the second half.
Black Bull named Jamie Kenyon as their man of the match.
Barnetby's Sunday side lost 5-2 at Blyborough in the same section of the competition yesterday.
Current standings in this seven-strong division show Barnetby in third spot, Hibaldstow fourth and Black Bull sixth.
Our local sides have now played either seven or eight league games.
Black Bull FC, based at Brigg's Wrawby Street pub, are a new presence in the Paul Fox-sponsored competition this season and play their home games at Brigg Recreation Ground on Sunday mornings.
Without a league game yesterday were Broughton Workingmen's Club in Division One. The same applied to FC Recoveries - members of Division Four - whose home matches take place in Hibaldstow.
