BRIGG SEES ITS LAST PASSENGER TRAINS AHEAD OF SUSPENSION

The last passenger trains Brigg will see for six weeks ran yesterday (Saturday, January 1, 2022).
Diesel units between Sheffield and Cleethorpes, operated by Northern, only call at Brigg and Kirton Lindsey railway stations on Saturdays (three running in each direction).
But ALL Brigg line trains are now being temporarily suspended... from January 4 to February 19.
This relates to Covid-related difficulties being experienced by the train operator.
There will be NO replacement bus substituting while the trains are suspended.
Brigg Blog ventured out yesterday to record one of the last scheduled trains before the local line's provision was suspended.
Our pictures, taken from Bigby Road circa 1.30pm, show a two-car unit approaching and passing over the barrier crossing on its way towards Barnetby, Grimsby and Cleethorpes. It had just called at Brigg station.
