A sign of the times has been evident in Brigg town centre over the New Year.
A cash machine outside the Barclays branch in the Market Place has been showing an illuminated message to customers: Bank Digital.
Barclays gave notice in October that it would be closing its Brigg branch for good at noon on January 21, 2022.
Among the reasons given for this was: "The number of counter transactions has gone down in the two years to March 2020, and additionally 83% of our branch customers also use other ways to do their banking such as online and by telephone."
Meanwhile, for those Barclays customers still wishing to call at the Brigg branch in person, it will reopen for business for the first time this year on Thursday (January 6).
