BASH IS BACK: BRIGG GROUP USING OLD AND NEW METHODS TO LET PEOPLE KNOW

A long-established series of popular monthly events in Brigg is about to resume after almost two years, since the Coronavirus emergency was initially declared in the UK.
The first open-to-all meeting of Brigg Amateur Social Historians (BASH) will take place on Tuesday, February 1 at Brigg and District Servicemen's Club, Coney Court, starting at 8pm.
We then hope to see further BASH meetings follow on the first Tuesday of the month, in line with past practce.
BASH is using old and new methods to promote the relaunch on February 1 - a poster in a glass case outside the Servicemen's Club (a location many people walk past near Cary Lane and Old Courts Road) and social media posts on Facebook. Plus Brigg Blog, of course!
BASH founder Josie Webb (pictured above) has granted permission for us to use a montage (above, top left) which is helping to market the next talk - Into The Blue Skies.
She says this is the true story of "Friday 13th" - a World War Two Halifax Bomber and its brave crew.
Local man Ken Cammack was the rear gunner and this illustrated talk by Josie will feature his memories and photos from his time with 158 Squadron, based at Lissett in North Yorkshire.
There will be a raffle but no buffet on February 1.
Admission is FREE and membership is not required to attend BASH meetings at the Servicemen's Club.
You don't need to book in advance, either; just turn up on the night to enjoy Josie's presentation.
Josie, and some others, founded BASH in 2003 - originally meeting at the White Horse pub, on Wrawby Street.
