EXTRA SEATING & TABLES PLANNED FOR BRIGG PUB CUSTOMERS

An application has been made seeking permission to provide additional seating for customers of a popular Brigg pub.
Craft Union Pub Company Ltd, as owner of the Black Bull on Wrawby Street, wants approval to place five tables and 20 chairs on its frontage - seven days a week between 10am and 10pm, and also banners (supported by poles) "to mark the boundary of the licensed area."
This is a Pavement Licence application as required by recent legislation - the Business and Planning Act 2020.
It was passed by the Government 200 years after the Black Bull became established in Brigg, and long before local councils were created to manage urban areas.
Today's hostelry has an extensive beer garden at the back with Spanish-style huts (cabanas), a large covered area and even a few palm trees.
