BRIGG & DISTRICT ROUND-UP - MONDAY AUGUST 1

Brigg households will be getting their brown (garden waste) bins emptied again tomorrow (Tuesday, August 2) after the previous collection was postponed.
Following the scheduled collection date two weeks ago being ruled out on crew safety grounds due to very high temperatures, Brigg Blog approached North Lincolnshire Council to suggest it might consider taking some bagged 'side waste' if placed alongside brown bins on August 2 (due to the extended gap between collections).
We've been unable to confirm this will be permitted. So our advice is NOT to put out any 'green' side waste in bags for collection tomorrow.
Burgundy bins in Brigg, containing cardboard and plastic items for recycling, will also be emptied on Tuesday.

We hear complimentary comments about the 'all you can eat' Thai food night held at Brigg's Britannia Inn on Saturday (July 30). And it already seems another is being lined up for the Wrawby Street venue.

Brigg's Lord Nelson Hotel, in the Market Place, will be holding a general knowledge quiz night on Tuesday (August 2) from 8.30pm, with eight pints to be won at this Old Mill Brewery (Snaith) outlet.

The Lincolnshire Co-op will be opening its new food store in Barnetby on Thursday, August 25. It's located on land off Victoria Road in the centre of the village. Construction has been under way for some months.

Wrawby Hall - the care facility on Vicarage Road - has a Summer Fayre coming up on Saturday (August 6) from 11am to 5pm. The Brigg Wado Ryu Academy will be in attendance, and there will be stalls, entertainment, a tombola and raffle, with an ice cream van present.
