There was an important win for Broughton 2nds in Lincolnshire County Cricket League Division Three West yesterday (Saturday, August 13).
Broughton hosted Barton 2nds, who are also chasing the championship pennant, and won narrowly - by two wickets.
Opting to bowl first on their home ground, Broughton dismissed the visitors for 117, with Ben Fish taking three for 17 and Sam Hayton three for 28.
Jamie Robinson then top scored with 31 as Broughton secured the full 20 points on offer.
Former Brigg Town opening bowler Tom Brock took three wickets for Barton who had to be content with three bonus points.
Broughton 1sts were beaten by Clee Town Laportes in a Division One game played at Keelby.
The maximum five bonus points were secured by Broughton as they dismissed their hosts for 184 - Robbie Ward and Sean Clixby both taking three wickets.
Sean then hit 49, but Broughton fell short with 149.
Hibaldstow 1sts visited Lincoln in Division Two and were bowled out for 153 by Hartsholme 2nds - opener Josh Cowling scoring 32. He then took the only wicket to fall as the home team secured a convincing nine-wicket victory.
