Two people who live locally were elected to serve on North Lincolnshire Council in an election held yesterday (Thursday, May 6) for a ward which borders Brigg.
Returned as councillors for the Broughton & Appleby Ward were Carol Elizabeth Ross and Janet Lee. Both standing as Local Conservatives, they received 1,217 and 1,141 votes respectively.
Carol lives in Broughton while Janet resides in Castlethorpe.
Seven candidates stood for election for this ward which extends through Wressle and Castlethorpe as far as the Waters Edge housing estate - just a stone's throw from Brigg on the other side of the New River Ancholme.
