GOOD NEWS IN STORE FOR BRIGG FOOD BANK

The storage contained installed some time ago for use by Brigg Food Bank - helping needy people in the area - has now received official approval.
A planning application had to be submitted for the 45ft 'shipping' container on land near the FunForest indoor adventure play centre, on Europa Way, on the edge of the business park.
This has now been approved by North Lincolnshire Council.
An assessment report prepared by authority planning staff noted that two letters of support for the proposal had been received, while Brigg Town Council had raised no objections.
Recommending that permission be granted, the report said: "The container is adjacent to an existing car park and does not restrict the use of these (approx. 90 spaces). The container is used for storage purposes only and it is not considered that any parking demand associated with its use would place unacceptable strain on parking capacity for the adjoining commercial use.
"It is not proposed to operate the food bank from the container; rather, the container is for the storage of food items only."
This application was given a 'valid date' in mid-March by the planning authority and followed by the standard month-long public consultation period.
