GOAL ACHIEVED IN BRIGG THROUGH NEW ADDITION

Last Saturday morning when Brigg Blog posted about the suspension until January of football in several local leagues, we spotted some positive news for those who want to put in a bit of practice or undertake a kick-about with others from their family group/bubble.

Following the removal of one set of life-expired goalposts on North Lincolnshire Council's Davy Memorial Field, Brigg Town Council has now paid for and installed replacement frames to join the other posts which had managed to pass the last inspection.
Two sets of posts mean that, potentially, small-scale friendly games involving makeshift teams of youngsters will be able to resume - always bearing in mind Coronavirus emergency Tier 3. However, healthy exercise in the open air is being encouraged by the government.
North Lincolnshire Council, which manages this playing field between Bigby Road and Kings Avenue as well as others in the town, installed a new slide at the Davy field to replace one removed because of safety concerns.
During Brigg Town Council's October meeting, it was suggested the Davy field lacks play equipment when compared with some other local parks.
Please note that the new posts have been provided by the Town authority and not North Lincolnshire Council as we initially thought and indicated.
