Brigg and district parents with young children have a lot to tackle over Christmas and New Year, prompting North Lincolnshire Council to issue a helpful reminder about the need to apply for youngsters' school places as the deadline draws near.
FROM JOEL FRANCIS, NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL
Parents with children aged three to four years old are being reminded to apply to the council for their school place starting in September 2021 - ahead of the deadline of 15 January 2021.
Further to information circulated previously, now is the last chance to apply for your child’s school place.
If your child was born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 you must apply for their school place now.
You can apply online and find out more on the North Lincolnshire Council website https://www.northlincs.gov.uk/schooladmissions
Cllr Julie Reed, cabinet member for children and families, said: “Parents only have a few weeks left to apply for their child’s school place for reception in September 2021. If parents don’t apply this could mean their child misses out on a place at their preferred school.
“We would encourage parents to apply as soon as possible and submit their preferences of schools that they would like their child to attend. It is quick and easy to do this online.
“Although it is not always possible to allocate one of their chosen schools, parents can be assured that we do all we can to accommodate their wishes.
“In North Lincolnshire 9 out of 10 of our schools are rated good or outstanding by Ofsted. We are dedicated to providing an excellent quality of education to help our young people to achieve their full potential.”
