TOUCH RUGBY LAUNCHES AT BRIGG RECREATION GROUND

Brigg Recreation Ground, off Wrawby Road, has hosted a good range of sports since it was opened by the Urban District Council in the early 1950s.
Football, hockey, cricket, tennis and putting (mini-golf) have all been enjoyed by men, women and youngsters.
But there's now an addition - touch rugby. Sessions are being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm.
If this appeals to you, go along and join in one of the friendly games.
A couple of years ago, Brigg Blog reported the introduction of rugby at the town's Sir John Nelthorpe School.
But the oval ball game has never really caught on in Brigg at club level, although it's been played in Barton, Scunthorpe and Market Rasen for many years, with some players from our town taking part. We also recall some tag rugby being played locally.
