Brigg Town Cricket Club wrapped up promotion with an away victory yesterday (Saturday, August 18).
They beat Scunthorpe Town 3rds, who play their home fixtures at Hibaldstow.
The margin of victory in this Lincolnshire County Cricket League fourth division clash was five wickets.
Scunthorpe made 74, being bowled out after 25 of the scheduled 45 overs.
Brigg's most successful bowlers were Paul Neal (three for eight) and Matthew Bell (three for 17).
The five bonus bowling points gained for dismissing the opposition meant Brigg secured promotion at this point.
After the interval between innings, Scunthorpe made inroads into the top order but Brigg went on to win in the 18th over, with Bell (36 not out) completing a fine all-road performance.
Result: Brigg Town (20 points) beat Scunthorpe Town 3rds (2 points) by five wickets.
Brigg's next aim is to secure the championship during what remains of the 2018 season.
