NEW BRIGG BINS, OLD BRIGG PROBLEM
Despite a new bin being in place at this location within Brigg town centre, our picture shows litter just a few yards from it on Bigby Street.
Brigg Blog recently took a similar picture showing litter near another newly-installed bin on Bigby Road, alongside the A1084 and not far from The Monument.
These examples show that however many bins the authorities provide, some people will decline to use them and instead just toss their rubbish on paths, roads and vacant land.
Brigg is tidier than many other towns, with council workers and volunteers involved in regular and periodic clean-ups.
But it's a sad fact that most of what they collect should have been placed in on-street waste bins or taken home and put in household 'wheelies'.
UPDATE: Further to an earlier post about weeds on a public footpath in Brigg, we are pleased to report they were subsequently removed along its entire length. Clothes Hedge footpath runs from the end of St Helen's Road through to Churchill Avenue. It then links up with the public footpath over the fields to Wrawby, which is popular with dog-walkers and ramblers.
