On the extensive grassy area at Sir John Nelthorpe School, a rugby match is to take place on Wednesday, November 16 between Brigg Sixth Form and North Lindsey College, Scunthorpe, (2.30pm start).
It's expected that representatives of governing body the Rugby Football Union and Scunthorpe Rugby Union Club will be attending.
Brigg Blog has also been placed on the guest list and will TRY (sorry!) our best to get there to watch this interesting addition to the list of available sports.
Keen followers of this Blog will recall a few weeks ago that we photographed the new rugby posts in place on the SJN field while taking pictures of the first Briggensians FC home game of the season.
As the photo belows demonstrates, the rugby new rugby pitch is parallel to Glebe Road and runs across the football pitch used by Briggensians FC.
