BRIGG FIRM INVOLVED IN OUR STORIES PROJECT

Brigg company Know Media, of Wrawby Road, is involved with a project to capture local people's stories, ambitions and experiences of North Lincolnshire.

FROM KIRSTY WESTFIELD, NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL

Young people are being encouraged to share their stories, ambitions and experiences of North Lincolnshire through photography and film as part of the Our Stories Film Festival.
Our Stories project is led by North Lincolnshire Council, Oasis Henderson Avenue Hub and Know Media.
Our Stories is all about you; the places you go; the people you love.
It’s a film and photography festival by and for the young people of North Lincolnshire – a celebration of places, spaces and achievements.
You don’t need any special kit to get involved. Use what you have, where you are. Snap photos and film experiences on your smartphone, tablet or camera.
We all take photos and videos of our lives every day and share them with the world and this is no different. Join us on Instagram and simply tag your creations with #ourstoriesnl
The festival is open to all and you can submit photos or video. Want to know more? Go to https://ourstoriesfilmfest.co.uk/
A festival will be held on 28 September at a location to be revealed where all the photos and videos will be showcased.
Cllr Elaine Marper, Cabinet Member for Public Participation and Culture, said: “Our Stories is about giving young people the chance to express themselves through photography and film. They can share their stories, highlight what North Lincolnshire means to them and their favourite things. We all use photos and film in everyday life, so we’re encouraging young people to use this and express themselves in a creative way.
“It is a really great opportunity for young people and it will all culminate in a festival at the end of September showcasing their work.
“Why not get involved in Our Stories this summer and get creative?”
Tyrone Curran, Hub Leader, said: “We are calling on creators from across North Lincolnshire to tell real and meaningful stories - our hope is to create a community of creators sharing and collaborating together. Join us.”
