SEEING THE LIGHT OVER BRIGG'S LITTLE PROBLEMS

North Lincolnshire Council staff must feel it's a bit like trying to paint the Forth Bridge when it comes to tackling annoying little problems in Brigg.
Belatedly we'd like to thank the local authority for fixing that large pothole in the middle of St Helen's Road, in which we dipped a wheel more than once. We reported it recently on Brigg Blog, if you recall.
However, when we drove down the same street the other day and admired the repair in the road, we noticed  a street light was "on" in mid-morning. The following afternoon  it was still illuminated.
Clearly the public purse would rather not fork out on unnecessary electricity.
We must also remind the council that one of the ornate street lamps in the Market Place is still burning brightly all day. We've mentioned that before.
Apologies to the authority if it has already resolved these problems since our observations.
If not, we hope to be able to report "fixes" in the not too distant future.
