EXTENDED ROAD CLOSURE IN BRIGG

North Lincolnshire Council has kindly clarified the details of a temporary road closure in Brigg.
We shared with Brigg Blog followers a photograph we took of a sign announcing Almond Grove, near its junctions with Atherton Way and Birch Avenue, would be closed for five days.
Yesterday we photographed a sign at the same location but noticed that the length of closure had increased from five to FIFTEEN days (see picture above).
The camera doesn't lie, as the saying goes, so we thought we'd better check with the highway authority.
A spokeswoman for North Lincolnshire Council, which is currently attending to drainage and highway issues on the Newlands estate as part of an extensive programme of works, explained: "Clugston's has closed the road to install part of the drainage at the southern end of Almond Grove. As we are two weeks ahead of programme, we have asked them to keep the road closed as the surfacing contractor will be coming next week. This is to avoid any confusion with motorists by re-opening and closing the road in the space of a few days."

The original road closure sign saying five days. At the top of this post is the sign that's there now, saying FIFTEEN days.
