BRIGG CHURCH HALL COULD DO WITH REFURBISHMENT

The side of the brick-built church hall, with St  John's Church on the left.

These pictures show St John's Church Hall, in Bigby Street, Brigg, where improvements are to take place.
At a recent Brigg Town Council committee meeting, it was suggested that the new cooker which our local authority had agreed to fund has yet to be installed.
Other improvements inside the building are also planned, including flooring.
Clearly, the outside could also do with refurbishment. This rather basic building is within the Conservation Area so you'd think that grants will be available from several sources. Nor is the Church of England exactly penniless.
The hall is used for much more than events related to the parish church. It is a venue for quizzes, art exhibitions and charity fundraisers, to name but a few.  The building also has a pedestrian entrance of Wrawby Street, which is useful when an event is taking place.
The inside of the building is a lot nicer than the outside. Outwardly, it is not very pleasing to the eye. But we are sure  it could be made to look a lot more welcoming.
Is now the time for a suitable project?

A side view of the church hall, looking down Bigby Street.  Part of this gap in buidings was once occupied by a church house - long since demolished.  We took this picture while standing outside the Diya Spice takeaway.
