BRIGG PUBLIC FOOTPATH REOPENS & LOOKS GOOD IN THE SUN

A newly revamped section of Brigg public footpath is now open.
The resurfaced footway runs from the County Bridge, where new steps have been been put in place, along the eastern towpath of the Old River Ancholme, past the B & M store and down towards Lidl.
Eventually the new cycle track and footpath will run all the way to South Ferriby, where the Ancholme joins the River Humber.
North Lincolnshire Council's public notice, pinned to railings a few weeks ago, gave up to six months' closure time to allow for completion of the stretch from the County Bridge.
Brigg Blog suggested that might well prove an over-estimate.
The new surface of the path looks good, as do the lamp standards.
The banking beside the path has been stripped of foliage in places.
In due course will it be grassed or become a mixture of grass, shrubs and flower beds?
This is a perfect time of year to enjoy the resurfaced path. But beware of the weather. We waited until a sunny spell before taking these pictures. But within an hour a stiff breeze was moving in heavy clouds.  Be sure to take a raincoat or brolly!

Excellent...but we still need the benches....
On a more profound tone....what can be installed along the path to deter mad off-road motorcyclists using it as a Brigg to South Ferribly race-track...without restricting those in wheelchairs...?
