A Brigg planning application which has been awaiting a decision for almost a year could finally be decided tomorrow.
North Lincolnshire Council considers this to be an application of significant public interest. Shirecare Property Co Ltd is seeking the go-ahead to erect five dwellings and garages on land to the west of Almond Grove.
The application will go before North Lincolnshire Council's planning committee at its monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 27 at Scunthorpe Civic Centre, off Ashby Road, starting at 2pm.
The meeting is open to interested members of the public.
An officer's assessment report, prepared ahead of the meeting, says the main issues to consider in the determination of this application are:
- Whether the proposed development would have an unacceptable impact on the character or appearance of the area
- Whether the development would be harmful to highway safety along Almond Grove
- Whether the development would have an unacceptable impact on the amenities of neighbouring properties.
The committee, comprising councillors drawn from across the district, has the power to grant permission, refuse an application or decide to make a site visit before reaching a decision at a future meeting.
Council staff are recommending approval in this case.
North Lincolnshire Council's planning committee is chaired by Coun Nigel Sherwood (Brigg & Wolds).
