Brigg Town Cricket Club has applied to North Lincolnshire Council for a Community grant of £7,500.
This is "towards the anticipated £8,362.52 cost of equipment for maintaining and playing cricket at Brigg Recreation Ground."
The council grants scheme helps community sport, arts and heritage capital projects.
A decision on Brigg Town's application is expected from the council after July 27.
