BRIGG PUBS COULD GET CAMRA NOMINATIONS

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is holding its annual Pub Design Awards and we have a couple of hostelries in Brigg which meet the criteria, for the benefit of those wishing to nominate.
The closing date for entries is the end of next month (August 31).
Pub improvements must have been completed between January 1 and December 31, 2015, to be accepted into the competition.
We think the transformation of the White Horse by JD Wetherspoon, and Calvin Dow’s project at the Britannia Inn fall within the required period. Both these hostelries are on Wrawby Street.
CAMRA defines refurbishment as ranging from complete gutting and replacement to an enhancement of what was originally there.
The White Horse is covered by the first of these requirements, and the Britannia  by the second.
