PUSHING THE BOAT OUT TO CATCH THE SUN IN BRIGG

Wonderful Sunday afternoon weather in Brigg saw some folk out for a gentle stroll, others relaxing in the beer gardens of various hostelries and a select few pushing the boat out with a spot of leisure pleasure along the Old River Ancholme.
We took this picture as the craft reached the stretch at the back of the former Trent Foods factory and the side of the B&M store.
We think the couple were probably heading towards Glanford Boat Club.

Methinks they're avoiding the boat club, Nige...
Being critical the cruiser could do with a bit of cleaning; at the boat club mist boats are cranked out at the end of a season and members tend to use the winter months for repairs and scrub-downs...
One thing that irritates us yacthmen is the practice of cruiser skippers of leaving fenders dangling over the side.
Fenders are used as protective cushioning while moored, or going thro' a lock...but once a yatch moves, the fenders are brought in and stored neatly.....Fenders wobbling about the hull when there's no need, makes yacthmen's teeth grate!!
